Like your guide to World of Tanks got me playing the game, this one is getting me quite interest in the whole flying business.
Once my WoT-interest wanes (could be a ways off, loving the Hetzer at the moment) I’m going to be sure to try War Thunder out.

Good stuff! There’s World of Warplanes to come from the World of Tanks team too, and War Thunder are intending to add tanks and ships in time, so there shouldn’t be a shortage of flying-driving-shooting-type action for a while.

I actually came here mainly because of this crew-xp thingy since I’ve figured most of the other stuff out myself during my first war thunder night (especially that it’s not worth suggesting tactics in arcade). Still read your whole guide though because it’s so well written and gave me a good laugh here and there. Thanks for that!

I should try and find a decent guide to the crew skills, still haven’t found anything really definitive… Glad you enjoyed the rest anyway!
