KiaSAcast Episode 61

For those of you who are not monitoring our podcast RSS feed or stalking us on the Twitterverse, brace your main hats and hang on to your sails, because we’re pleased to announce that it’s time for KiaSAcast episode 61.

In this episode Melmoth accidentally picked up a set of headphone dopplegangers, which revealed themselves to be a Hiss Beast of the Snapcracklepop dimension only after recording had finished. The headphones have been sent to the prison dimension of Bin, and the show was healed somewhat with a +1 Vorpal Edit of Audacity, but it has still suffered a couple of negative frequency levels. Normal service should hopefully be resumed next week!

This episode of the podcast includes:

– Introduction

– Reader mail

– What we’ve been playing, including::

     – APB

     – World of Tanks

     – Warhammer Online

     – Age of Conan

     – With many and varied MMO topics in-between…

4 hours is acceptable for APB, I’m pretty sure I spent 2 hours of my evening crashing and reloading and watching the pretty VERY LONG loading screens.

@FraidOfTheLight: Come, come, now This is probably just a fluke. If we manage to produce two shows in a row, then you can faint.

@welshtroll: Good point, well made! If they count loading screen times in their statistics, then four hours starts to sound a bit low.

@Stabs: We’ve decided to follow an exponential podcast numbering system. Look forward to show 1,428,571 in a few short weeks.

    Yay, kiasacast!

It is really hard to know whether people who play shooters want to dress up their characters. I wouldn’t be so sure that they don’t, though. (Let’s face it, I have mates who play modern warfare who are total wargamingheads too, who’d be all over the idea of really really customised uniforms, as long as they could be totally accurate for some unit or other.)

Excellent show, chaps. And Melmoth, your twitter worries about the quality are misplaced. It sounded fine.

@spinks I think there’s definitely some appeal to all but the most aesthetically challenged FPS die hard, I believe there are plenty of cosmetic items in the Battlefield Heroes shop (never played it myself, but I remember Melmoth pointing out you need to pay to take your trousers off), but just not to the extent that RTW focused on it for APB.
