US Gamers Spend $3.8 Billion Per Year On MMOs.

Reports so far indicate that they are all delighted with their two extra inventory slots in Allods Online.

In a statement for Oh MMO Emo News, the US gaming community expressed its continued commitment to extra storage capacity within the Russian developed MMO, and as such their target for next year is to get extra slots for everyone, rather than having to share those two slots among the entire US population.

I love graphs but those raise a few questions.

How come the USA is spending so much more per head of population on mmo’s than the Europeans?

Also the 20% figure for virtual currency purchases is interesting. Given that most big name games don’t allow gold selling I wonder what this is. Have they tried to include black market gold?

There’s considerable scope for paying more per head.

Currency purchases amount to $740K, mostly I would guess illegal RMT.

Many players have multiple accounts especially in games like Eve and EQ2. Or play multiple games.

And of course some titles simply cost more than other ones
