I think it is far more likely that they would use the Caverns of Time to send players to an alternate future than that they would actually phase or replace the existing continent. It may not be the best content in the game, but partially phased subzones in Icecrown make for some pretty messy situations.

I just can't see a phased Azeroth being very interesting, unless the zones were pretty much unrecognisable from their original form. How far can phasing be pushed in that regard?

I think Blizzard have their work cut out keeping PvE fresh for another expansion, whatever they've decided to focus on. 'Ooh, another vehicle quest!' isn't going to cut it next time around.

Saying that, I wouldn't bet against them not to pull off whatever they set their mind to!

It's obvious that Cataclysm (tm) is the name of Blizzard's new MMO.

Players pay $15 per month to play. There is a $15 fee to be allowed into the ark, very useful place to be when the world is deluged with rain. Additional microtransactions are available for elite players who wish to walk the deck with umbrellas. For $100 you can buy the "Mammoth" expandable mega-umbrella which has tortoises dangling off its edges and be the envy of the server.

After 40 days you're allowed to leave the ark (or re-roll at level 1 if you were too cheap to buy admission). You have a massive beautifully designed sandbox world to explore and dominate!

However after a couple of days it starts to rain....
