Yeah, I'd love another Wing Commander-esque game, I think Freespace 2 was the last one I played ten years ago. Quite enjoyed the space combat of Star Wars Galaxies, but there's not much of an over-arching plot there, and I'm looking forward to giving Jumpgate: Evolution a go too.

Although I played Wing Commander III I didn't have a PC until 1994, so missed the earlier ones. I had a Commodore Amiga before then, which was awesome, but didn't have Wing Commander.

Wing Commander III was memorable enough, but the one that really blew me away was Wing Commander: Prophecy, the first game I ever played that used those new-fangled three-dee cards. The graphics were jaw dropping and the gameplay was smooth as silk. I still remember the feeling of watching a missile glide out and strike a target. The game itself was one of the weaker ones in the series, but gosh was it pretty.

I still wish someone would make another Wing Commander. I'd buy it in a heartbeat, but those sorts of games seem to be dead and gone (X2 and X3 were just too disjointed and open for me, I liked the theme park ride of Wing Commander).
