I s'pose I'm slap-bang in the target METAL™ (extends index and little fingers in obligatory hand gesture) demographic (albeit about 20 years older than most of the kids who seem to be into the games), so even though I don't particularly know a good half the songs initially, it's not so surprising I've got into most of them. To massively overgeneralise, I think guitars in general, both real and toy peripherals, are a bit of a “boy thing”. I'm always turned off these games because of not having heard of half the songs they give you (I know, I'm not metal enough). Have you noticed this? It's like 'Singstar' is for the girls, it has ABBA, Queen, boybands, and other music I've at least heard of. Guitar Hero is for REAL MEN (tm) and doesn't, or if it does, they're mixed in with a load of other tracks I don't care about. I like the idea of downloading which songs you want.
