Stargazer: splendid! I think. Though I'd like to urge any reader whose head explodes to consult a doctor, just to double check there really isn't any harm in it.

Melmoth: I put it down to hard work, getting up early each morning, having a hearty breakfast and of course being a compulsive pack-rat and and particularly lazy when it comes to archiving and deleting digital information. The party trick effect is slightly spoiled, though, as after the question I have to run off and run a text search for "otter" before rejoining the conversation half an hour later.

Either your archives are comprehensively complete, or you have a mind that can recall such details at will.

Regardless, it's impressive to see the exact quote pulled out of the textual abyss of several years ago.

You should turn it into a party trick! "Zoso, what did so-and-so write on May 17th 2005?"

"Well, that was a particularly balmy Tuesday, as I recall, and they were scribing an engaging commentary on the state of the decor in the dining hall of the Sorbonne..."
